Kia Expands Performance EV Lineup With EV3, EV4, and EV5 GT Models
The South Korean automaker brings high-output electric driving to compact, hatchback, and midsize segments.
Kia has significantly expanded its electric performance portfolio with the launch of three new GT models: the EV3 GT compact SUV, the EV4 GT hatchback/fastback, and the EV5 GT midsize SUV. The move signals a strategic push to bring high-output electric driving to a wider array of vehicle segments.
All three vehicles feature dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrains and are powered by an 81.4 kWh battery. The EV3 GT delivers 288 hp (215 kW) and 345 lb-ft (468 Nm) of torque, reaching 0-62 mph in 5.7 seconds. The EV4 GT hatchback shares this same powertrain but achieves a slightly faster 0-62 mph time of 5.6 seconds. The larger EV5 GT produces 301 hp (225 kW) and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque, accelerating to 62 mph in 6.2 seconds.
Efficiency varies by body style according to WLTP range figures. The EV4 GT Fastback leads with 333 miles, followed by the EV4 GT Hatchback at 314 miles, the EV3 GT at 311 miles, and the EV5 GT at 295 miles. In the United States, the EV3 GT is available starting at $45,890, carrying an EPA-estimated range of 280 miles. European buyers in Germany will see starting prices of €53,990 for the EV3 GT, €57,840 for the EV4 GT, and €59,990 for the EV5 GT.
Scaling the GT Brand
This expansion follows the market entry of the EV6 GT in 2022 and the EV9 GT in 2024. By scaling the "GT" branding, Kia is attempting to make electric performance accessible across various segments, from hot hatches to family SUVs. To attract traditional sports car enthusiasts, Kia has integrated sensory-enhancing technologies, including Active Sound Design and a Virtual Gear Shift. Market Implications

This strategy positions Kia to dominate the performance EV niche by offering a specialized high-output variant for nearly every body style. By bridging the gap between standard electric commuters and hardcore performance machines, Kia is targeting drivers who desire sporting aesthetics and rapid acceleration without sacrificing daily utility.
Regional Availability
While the lineup is now on sale in Europe and the U.S., availability varies by specific model and region. Electrek reports that the EV4 GT Fastback will not be available in the UK market.
