Apple adds TV and Arcade to iCloud+ bundles in 100+ countries

The tech giant is lowering the entry barrier for its services in emerging markets by bundling entertainment with cloud storage.

TechNewsReel Newsroom · September 15, 2026

Apple has expanded its iCloud+ subscription offerings in more than 100 countries to include Apple TV and Apple Arcade at no additional cost. The move significantly lowers the price of entry for Apple's entertainment ecosystem by tying it to basic cloud storage plans.

The new bundle is available across all paid iCloud+ tiers, including the entry-level 50GB plan. This rollout covers a wide array of global markets, including India, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Türkiye, and the UAE. As part of the expansion, Apple TV is launching in 59 new countries, bringing its total global reach to 170 markets. Additionally, subscribers in these regions gain access to "Apple Music Select," a feature providing a curated selection of ad-free internet radio stations.

Shifting the Value Proposition

Historically, Apple bundled its services through "Apple One," a comprehensive package that includes Music, TV, Arcade, and iCloud storage. However, Apple One carries a significantly higher price point than a standalone iCloud+ membership. By integrating TV and Arcade into the cheaper cloud storage tiers, Apple is pivoting its strategy in emerging markets where the cost of the full Apple One suite may have acted as a barrier to adoption.

In some regions, this shift is resulting in a complete restructuring of available plans. For instance, Apple One will no longer be available for new subscribers in India, signaling a move toward more granular, storage-led bundles in that specific market.

Ecosystem Lock-in

This strategy suggests that Apple is prioritizing service growth and ecosystem lock-in over immediate, high-margin subscription revenue in these regions. By lowering the price floor for Apple TV and Arcade, the company can rapidly scale its user base in markets where it faces stiff competition from cheaper local streaming and gaming alternatives.

Once users are integrated into the TV and Arcade ecosystems, they are more likely to remain within the Apple hardware environment, creating a virtuous cycle of device sales and service dependency.

What to Watch

Industry analysts will be watching to see if this "storage-first" bundling strategy is rolled out to more developed markets or if it remains a tool for penetration in emerging economies. It remains to be seen if this will lead to a broader sunsetting of Apple One in other regions beyond India as Apple optimizes its pricing for local competition.
