Apple Debuts iPhone Duo Foldable Alongside iPhone 18 Pro Series

Apple has officially entered the foldable smartphone market with the unveiling of the iPhone Duo, a landmark shift in the company's hardware portfolio. The new device arrives alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, though the standard iPhone 18 model faces an unusual delay.

Unveiled during a September 9 event, the iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable phone, featuring a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner display. According to Apple, the device possesses the largest and thinnest display of any iPhone when opened. Internally, the Duo is powered by an A20 Pro chip utilizing 2nm manufacturing and a vapor-chamber cooling system. In a departure from recent flagship trends, the Duo replaces Face ID with Touch ID integrated into the side button. The device features a titanium design and is expected to ship with iOS 27.1. Pre-orders for the Duo begin October 16, with an official release on October 23.
