BVIO Unveils Violoop: Hardware AI Agent That Operates PCs as a 'Second User'

BVIO Technology has introduced Violoop, a palm-sized hardware device designed to act as an autonomous "second user" for any computer. Unveiled at IFA 2026, the device transforms standard PCs into agentic workstations capable of executing multi-step workflows without constant human prompting.

The hardware connects to a computer via HDMI and USB Type-C, allowing it to interpret on-screen activity in real-time and control the keyboard and mouse. BVIO reports the system was trained on more than 10,000 real-world software screens across 200 different applications. To power these operations, Violoop utilizes a local-first architecture featuring an 8-billion-parameter local model and 26 TOPS of on-device AI acceleration. For users requiring more power, the device supports external API keys for models including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Codex.

The Shift to Agentic Computing

This launch arrives as the industry moves from simple chat-based AI toward "agentic" computing, where AI interacts directly with software. While most current AI agents require deep software integrations or specific APIs to function, Violoop bypasses these requirements using hardware-level screen perception. This allows it to operate legacy software and diverse operating systems—including Windows, macOS, and Linux—simply by "seeing" the screen and simulating input.

Jaylen He, co-founder and CEO of BVIO, noted that while computers have historically been built for one active user, the rise of AI capable of understanding context and completing complex work means machines must now support AI as a second participant.

Security and Market Impact

Because the device controls a computer autonomously, BVIO integrated a dedicated STM32H563 security processor. The hardware includes physical approval controls, ensuring the AI cannot perform unauthorized actions without explicit user consent. This hardware-centric approach also offers a lifeline for older hardware; by offloading the vision and action layers to an external box, users can add advanced AI capabilities to laptops that lack native Neural Processing Units (NPUs).

Availability and Funding

BVIO Technology enters the market with significant backing, having raised $20 million in a seed funding round. The company is preparing for a Kickstarter launch on September 15, 2026. Early bird pricing for the device will start at $399, with a projected retail price of $699.

Industry observers will now watch to see how Violoop handles complex, non-standard UI elements and whether the physical approval system provides enough friction to ensure security without hindering the efficiency of autonomous workflows.
