CML Micro has integrated Bluetooth connectivity into its DRM1000 Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) broadcast receiver platform. The update transforms the low-power module into a connected hub capable of interfacing with smart devices and wireless accessories.
The DRM1000 is an "antenna-to-audio" broadcast receiver module designed for low cost and low power consumption. It supports a wide range of signals, including AM, FM, and DRM standards such as DRM30 and DRM+. According to CML Micro, the addition of Bluetooth enables the platform to support multimedia services, distance learning, and general smart device connectivity. The company plans to showcase these capabilities at IBC 2026.
The Efficiency of DRM
Digital Radio Mondiale is a global standard designed to deliver high-quality audio and data services across shortwave, mediumwave, and longwave bands. Because these bands often serve as emergency warning systems and critical information channels in emerging markets, power efficiency is a primary technical requirement.
