According to an analysis by How-To Geek, the Pixel series is losing its grip on power users due to the limitations of Google's Tensor chips. While the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is consistently cited as dominating in raw power, Google's Tensor G5 lags significantly behind competitors from Qualcomm and MediaTek. Beyond raw speed, the hardware struggle extends to connectivity; Pixel devices utilize Samsung Exynos-derived modems, which have been widely reported to cause random Wi-Fi and cellular issues, frequent call dropouts, and accelerated battery drain.

The Shift to AI

For nearly a decade, the Pixel was positioned as the premier experience for users seeking a streamlined version of Android paired with industry-leading camera processing. However, Google has recently transitioned its product strategy to center on Gemini, its generative AI suite.
