Motorola has officially entered the standalone cellular wearable market with the unveiling of the Moto Watch Ultra at IFA 2026 in Berlin. The device marks a strategic shift for the company, offering its first-ever smartwatch equipped with LTE and eSIM connectivity to challenge the dominance of high-end Wear OS devices.
Positioned as a high-value alternative to premium offerings from Apple and Samsung, the Moto Watch Ultra is priced at $349.99 in the U.S. The hardware features a 1.5-inch pOLED display capable of reaching 2,700 nits of peak brightness, ensuring visibility in direct sunlight. Under the hood, the watch is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chip and runs on Wear OS 6. To enhance ecosystem synergy, Motorola has integrated its Qira assistant, designed to streamline connectivity between the wearable and other Moto and Lenovo devices.

Rather than developing proprietary health metrics, Motorola has partnered with Polar to power the device's wellness suite. The watch utilizes Polar algorithms to provide advanced tracking features, specifically highlighting Nightly Recharge and Sleep Plus Stages to give users deeper insights into recovery and sleep quality.
Battery performance is designed for moderate use, with Motorola claiming approximately two days of active battery life when the always-on display is disabled.
