Sonos Launches 'Sonos 27' OS and Ultra Hardware to Restore Brand Trust

Sonos has unveiled "Sonos 27," the official name for the operating system powering its product ecosystem, alongside a new suite of AI-driven controls and premium hardware. As part of the announcement, Sonos introduced the Beam Ultra soundbar and the Ace Ultra headphones. The Beam Ultra, priced at $699, features nine drivers and supports 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos. Complementing the home audio expansion is the Ace Ultra, a top-tier headphone model featuring active noise cancellation (ANC) with a retail price of $449.
On the software side, the company introduced "Sonos Fabric," the technology responsible for device discovery and coordination across the network. To modernize the user experience, Sonos is deploying "Sonos 27voice" for natural language music requests and "Sonos MCP," which allows the system to integrate with external LLM chatbots and AI agents such as ChatGPT.
