The Minimal Company has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the Minimal Phone 2, a specialized smartphone designed to reduce digital distraction. The device attempts to curb screen addiction by fundamentally altering how users navigate their mobile experience.

Moving away from the standard smartphone layout, the Minimal Phone 2 features a physical backlit QWERTY keyboard and a custom "Minimal OS" built on top of Android. This software layer replaces the traditional visual app grid with a text-based command-bar interface, requiring users to be intentional about the apps they launch.
