Asobi App Enables PS Plus Cloud Streaming on Steam Deck Without Console

A third-party application called Asobi has entered open playtest, enabling users to stream PlayStation Plus cloud games directly to the Steam Deck and other Linux-based devices. The tool significantly expands accessibility by allowing users to play Sony's cloud catalog without the need for a physical PS4 or PS5 console.

To utilize the cloud streaming feature, users must possess a PlayStation Network account with an active PlayStation Plus Premium subscription. Asobi supports the streaming of these cloud games as well as select owned digital titles. For those who do own hardware, the application maintains traditional Remote Play functionality, allowing them to stream from their own console to their handheld device. Currently, the app is available for the Steam Deck, Steam Machine, and general Linux distributions, though the developer has indicated plans to release a Windows version in the future.
