This amphibious mount provides high-speed traversal and unique combat abilities for endgame exploration.

Grounded 2 has expanded its traversal options with the 'Into the Abyss' update, introducing the Toe Biter Buggy. This amphibious mount allows players to move seamlessly between land and underwater environments, fundamentally changing how the game's aquatic zones are navigated.

To obtain the mount, players must first unlock the Toe Biter Nest recipe. This requires locating the Aquatic Optical Disc at the summit of the Gnarly Bark Tree and processing it at a Ranger Station. Once the recipe is available, players must gather specific materials to craft the nest: eight horsetail stems, four sunken bones, six cattail fluff, five algae, and three to four pieces of lint rope.

With the nest constructed, the next step involves a boss encounter. Players must travel to the Gnarly Bark region and locate a cave hidden behind the memorial photo to face the 'Papa Toe Biter.' Defeating this boss rewards the player with a Toe Biter Egg. This egg must then be placed within a Hatchery, where it requires 12 in-game hours to fully incubate before the buggy can be claimed.

Strategic Utility in the Abyss

The introduction of the Toe Biter Buggy is critical for endgame progression, particularly within the Skunk Pond and Abyss areas. Because it is amphibious, it serves as a superior utility mount compared to traditional land-based buggies. Its water speed and underwater clipping, combined with its ability to inflict chill, make it an essential asset for players venturing deeper into the Abyss.

Beyond simple movement, the buggy significantly increases the efficiency of resource gathering. It is currently the fastest traversal option for underwater movement, allowing players to harvest high-value materials such as Pond Moss and Eelgrass Strands with far greater ease than on foot.

Combat and Capabilities

In addition to its mobility, the Toe Biter Buggy brings unique offensive capabilities to the field. The mount features a specialized three-hit combat combo that applies both venom and chill to enemies, providing a tactical advantage during aquatic skirmishes.

Players should note that while the buggy is highly capable on its own, its utility is further enhanced when paired with diving boots, which allow the mount to sink to the pond floor for deeper exploration. As players push into the final stages of the 'Into the Abyss' content, mastering the acquisition and use of this mount will be key to surviving the depths.
