Paul Walker's brothers decline body double roles for Fast & Furious finale

Cody Walker has confirmed that he and his brother Caleb will not serve as body doubles to bring back the character Brian O'Conner for the upcoming conclusion of the Fast & Furious franchise. The decision places the future of the character's appearance in the series finale, titled 'Fast Forever', on the shoulders of the late actor's daughter and the possibilities of emerging technology.

Speaking to IGN, Cody Walker stated that he is not interested in repeating the process of acting as a physical stand-in for his brother. While he acknowledged that artificial intelligence and unused archival footage could potentially be used to resurrect O'Conner for the film, he emphasized that any such move must be approved by Paul Walker's daughter, Meadow Walker. "My stance is, it’s what Meadow [Paul’s daughter] wants to see done; it’s her father," Cody Walker said.

For the production of 'Furious 7', Cody and Caleb Walker, along with actor John Brotherton, worked as body doubles while CGI was employed to map Paul Walker's likeness over them. Cody Walker noted his satisfaction with this conclusion, stating, "I love the way his character exited the franchise."

Vin Diesel has also publicly expressed a desire to bring the character back for a final farewell.
