Warframe expands squad sizes and introduces Narin in Iceblade update

Digital Extremes is releasing the "Iceblade of Narin" update for Warframe on September 23. The expansion introduces a new playable character and a significant shift in cooperative gameplay mechanics across PC, consoles, and mobile platforms.

The update centers on Narin, the game's 66th Warframe and its first female ice-themed frame. Designed with a crowd-control kit, Narin arrives with two signature weapons: the Nunchasa bow and the Aksondol dual ice pistols. Alongside the new frame, the developer is introducing "Glacial Defiance," a new gameplay mode that expands the traditional squad size to six players. This mode utilizes existing Zariman levels with new modifications, offering rewards that can be accessed in Melica’s Labroom.

Expanding the Origin System

To support these additions, the update introduces Yuvan Peak, a new Relay Hub located on Earth. Players will also encounter new Entropic Eximus enemies during Zariman missions. These enemies drop Entropic Kuva, a resource that can be traded with Cephalon Melica. Additionally, the update includes a rework of the Warframe Banshee, intended to provide players with greater combat variety and versatility.

Warframe has maintained a global community for nearly 14 years as a free-to-play looter-shooter. This latest content serves as a bridge toward a larger narrative journey that will take players outside the Origin System.
