SEW-EURODRIVE Introduces Economy Planetary Servo Gear Units
New P1.G, P2.G, and P3.G classes allow OEMs to match gear specifications to actual application needs.
SEW-EURODRIVE has expanded its PxG planetary servo gear unit portfolio with a new economy series, providing machine builders and OEMs with cost-effective servo performance tailored for standard industrial automation applications.
The new lineup consists of three distinct performance classes: the P1.G for standard applications with low overhung loads, the P2.G for increased radial forces and overhung load capacity, and the P3.G for higher mechanical strength under high overhung and dynamic loads. The series is available in five sizes, offering peak torque ratings that range from 11 to 500 Nm.
Technical specifications for the economy range include a rated service life exceeding 20,000 hours and rotational clearance between 6 and 12 arcminutes. The units are available in one- and two-stage configurations and feature solid-shaft designs that can be smooth, keyed, or splined.
Right-Sizing Industrial Automation
This expansion creates a tiered product structure, placing the economy series below the existing P5.G, P6.G, and P7.G precision ranges. By offering these lower performance classes, SEW-EURODRIVE enables customers to avoid the costs associated with over-specification in projects where extreme precision is not required.
