Hanwha Systems Debuts Space AI Solution at MSPO 2026 to Automate Satellite Intelligence
The new system integrates multi-spectral satellite data to accelerate object detection and situational analysis for military commanders.
Hanwha Systems officially unveiled its proprietary space AI solution to the international market on September 9, 2026. The debut took place at the 34th International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO 2026) in Kielce, Poland, marking a significant step in the company's expansion of orbital intelligence capabilities.
During the exhibition, Hanwha Systems demonstrated the AI's capacity to analyze real-time imagery of Eastern Europe captured by operational satellites. According to company officials, the solution integrates and analyzes data from electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR), and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites. The AI is designed to perform automatic object detection, anomaly detection, and situational pattern analysis to identify specific targets, including aircraft, ships, and vehicles. A Hanwha Systems official stated that the solution converts raw satellite data into "immediate reconnaissance and tactical intelligence."
Strategic Integration in Poland
The unveiling occurred as part of a joint exhibition by Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha Systems. This move strengthens Hanwha's existing partnership with Poland, a nation that already utilizes the company's K9 Self-Propelled Howitzers and Chunmoo Multiple Rocket Launchers. Jacek Cyrek, CEO of Hanwha Aerospace Europe, noted that the company is expanding its local footprint into space AI, air defense, and manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T) to help build "defense sovereignty and industrial capability" within Poland.
Accelerating the Sensor-to-Shooter Cycle
The integration of SAR and EO imagery via AI is critical because SAR can operate regardless of light conditions or weather interference. By automating the interpretation of this complex radar data, Hanwha is significantly reducing the human effort required to process orbital intelligence. This acceleration of the "sensor-to-shooter" cycle allows military commanders to transform raw data into actionable tactical intelligence in real time, a capability that is increasingly vital for high-intensity conflicts and rapid disaster response.
Future Orbital Infrastructure
Looking ahead, Hanwha Systems intends to evolve this capability into a broader "space-ground integrated infrastructure." The company's roadmap includes linking a space AI data center with synthetic aperture radar satellites operating in very low Earth orbit (VLEO). While the core AI capabilities were demonstrated at MSPO, the full scale of this integrated infrastructure and its specific operational deployments remain the primary points of interest for industry observers.
