Xingyi Space Raises Hundreds of Millions of Yuan in Series A Funding

The commercial spacecraft tracking firm will expand its global telemetry and control infrastructure to support rising orbital traffic.

Shaanxi Xingyi Space Technology has raised several hundred million yuan in a Series A funding round to scale its spacecraft management capabilities. The investment marks a critical expansion for the company as it builds the ground-side infrastructure necessary to support the rapidly growing commercial space sector.

The financing, which consists of a capital increase and strategic investment following a previous Pre-A round, was backed by a consortium of investors. According to reports from TMTPOST and Dealroom, the funding round includes participation from Jiangsu Venture Capital, Lihe Qingdong, Septwolves Holdings, Zhichen Investment, Lanxi Capital, and Haixi Venture Capital. Xingyi Space intends to deploy the new capital to advance its core technology and expand its global measurement and control infrastructure.

The Ground Segment Bottleneck

While much of the commercial space industry focuses on high-visibility launch vehicles and satellite manufacturing, Xingyi Space operates in the essential but less visible "ground segment." The company specializes in the design, construction, and operation of tracking, telemetry, and control (TT&C) networks. These networks, comprising both specialized hardware and software, provide the critical communication links required to track and manage commercial spacecraft once they have reached orbit.

Strategic Industry Implications

This investment highlights a shifting strategic focus toward the infrastructure that supports orbital assets. As the volume of commercial satellites increases globally, the ability to maintain reliable, continuous contact with spacecraft becomes a primary operational bottleneck. By investing in TT&C networks, venture capital firms are betting that the infrastructure required to command and control these assets will become as high-value as the satellites themselves.

Future Outlook

With the Series A capital secured, the industry will be watching how quickly Xingyi Space can deploy its global measurement and control nodes. The company's ability to scale its hardware footprint internationally will determine whether it can meet the rising demand from commercial satellite operators. While the specific technical milestones for its core technology advancements remain internal, the expansion of its global network is the immediate priority for the firm. This scaling effort is essential for ensuring that the ground segment does not lag behind the pace of satellite deployment, which could otherwise jeopardize the operational viability of new commercial constellations.
