CesiumAstro Acquires Jariet Technologies to Vertically Integrate RF Signal Chain
The acquisition of mmWave RF-SoC specialist Jariet Technologies allows the Austin-based startup to bring semiconductor design in-house.
CesiumAstro Inc. announced the acquisition of Jariet Technologies on August 12, 2026, marking a strategic shift toward vertical integration. The move allows the satellite communications company to bring critical semiconductor design capabilities in-house, reducing reliance on external suppliers.
Jariet Technologies, which will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary, specializes in millimeter-wave (mmWave) RF System-on-Chip (RF-SoC) semiconductor solutions. These technologies are primarily utilized in satellite communications (SATCOM), radar systems, and electronic warfare (EW). Founded in 2015 as a fabless semiconductor firm, Jariet has focused its development on RF transceiver integrated circuits (ICs) and RF-sampling data converters. By absorbing Jariet, CesiumAstro now integrates mixed-signal semiconductor technology, digital signal processing (DSP), and active phased arrays under a single organizational roof.
The Push for Vertical Integration
CesiumAstro, an Austin-based startup, has built its reputation on phased array technology for satellites. Historically, the company relied on external semiconductor suppliers for the components that drive its systems. By owning the RF signal chain, CesiumAstro can now optimize the relationship between the silicon chips and the final mission system. This transition is designed to reduce size, weight, power (SWaP), and overall cost for both terrestrial and space-based communications.
