India's semiconductor industry has secured $1.4 billion in cumulative equity funding across 281 companies, marking a significant acceleration in the nation's push for technological sovereignty. According to reporting from The Times of India, the funding landscape is heavily concentrated in Bengaluru, which has emerged as the primary engine of growth, attracting 40.1% of all equity funding in the sector. Among the individual players, Tessolve Semiconductor leads the field with $213 million in cumulative funding, followed by ILJIN Electronics at $198 million and VVDN with $129 million.

This investment surge aligns with the broader objectives of the India Semiconductor Mission, a government-led initiative designed to establish a robust domestic supply chain.
