Lattice Semiconductor Hits Record Q2 Revenue as AMI Deal Accelerates Growth

The low-power FPGA specialist beats Wall Street estimates and pulls forward its $1 billion revenue target following the acquisition of AMI.

TechNewsReel Newsroom · August 7, 2026

Lattice Semiconductor reported record revenue for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026, driven by a surge in AI infrastructure demand. The company's strategic acquisition of AMI has accelerated its financial trajectory, allowing it to move its target for a $1 billion annual revenue run rate up to Q3 2026.

For Q2 FY 2026, Lattice generated $201.1 million in revenue, a 62.2% increase year-over-year that exceeded the Wall Street consensus estimate of $185.6 million. Growth was particularly aggressive in the Compute and Communications segment, where revenue climbed 83% year-over-year to $126.0 million, while Industrial and Embedded revenue grew 36% to $75.1 million. CEO Ford Tamer attributed the performance to strong customer demand, an accelerating backlog, and sustained design win momentum.

Expanding into the AI Control Plane

Lattice, traditionally a specialist in low-power field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), is transitioning from a cyclical recovery into an AI infrastructure expansion cycle. In this environment, FPGAs are increasingly utilized within servers, networking, and storage to support AI accelerators.

The acquisition of AMI (American Megatrends) allows Lattice to expand beyond hardware components and enter the "control plane" of AI infrastructure. By integrating AMI's assets, Lattice can now provide the essential platform firmware and secure infrastructure management layers required for hyperscale AI environments. The AMI business is expected to contribute a revenue base exceeding $200 million by the end of FY 2026, with a revenue mix consisting of approximately 60% boot firmware and 40% infrastructure manageability.

Strategic Market Shift

This integration transforms Lattice from a component supplier into a critical provider of companion chips and software for AI data centers. By securing a foothold in secure boot and infrastructure control, the company reduces its historical reliance on traditional industrial cycles. This shift positions Lattice as a key player in the management of the complex hardware environments that power modern artificial intelligence.

Future Outlook

Looking ahead, Lattice provided revenue guidance for Q3 FY 2026 between $245 million and $265 million. This projection includes an estimated contribution from AMI of between $33 million and $37 million. According to The Futurum Group, the integration of AMI has effectively pulled the company's $1 billion annual revenue run rate target forward by one quarter compared to previous expectations. Investors will be watching to see if this momentum continues as the company further embeds its firmware capabilities into the AI ecosystem.
