Further cementing its long-term position, the company has signed silicon photonics (SiPho) agreements with its largest customers valued at $1.3 billion for 2027 revenue. Additionally, a partnership with Marvell Technology has already resulted in the shipment of over five million coherent photonic integrated circuits (PICs) designed for AI-driven data center networks.

Tower Semiconductor operates as a specialty foundry, focusing on niche chip manufacturing rather than the primary GPUs that dominate AI headlines. Instead, the company provides the essential hardware layer—specifically silicon photonics and silicon-germanium (SiGe) technologies. These components are vital for the high-speed optical chips that enable data centers to handle the massive throughput required by large-scale AI models. This strategic pivot toward AI infrastructure has transitioned the company from a struggling venture into a central pillar of the hardware stack.
