UK Semiconductor Centre Leads Strategic Delegation to SEMICON Taiwan 2026
Britain aims to bridge the gap between its chip design expertise and Taiwan's manufacturing dominance.
The UK Semiconductor Centre (UKSC) is leading a high-level delegation of British companies and research institutions to SEMICON Taiwan 2026, held from September 2–4 at TaiNEX in Taipei. The mission seeks to forge new commercial and research partnerships by connecting UK innovation in chip design and AI hardware with Taiwan's world-leading manufacturing infrastructure.
Hosted at the UK Pavilion, the delegation represents a sector that has grown into a significant economic engine, now comprising over 700 companies that generate more than £10bn in annual revenue. According to UKSC CEO Andy McLean, the initiative is designed to leverage the "highly complementary strengths" of both regions, specifically pairing UK innovators with Taiwan’s supply chain depth and manufacturing expertise.

This diplomatic and industrial push follows the 2025 establishment of the UKSC, which was created to synchronize efforts between government, academia, and private industry to accelerate the development of the semiconductor sector.
