Corey Bryant of MZLA Technologies Corporation, the entity managing Thunderbird as a subsidiary of the Mozilla Foundation, confirmed the shift. Under the new cadence, the project will move away from its previous four-week cycle to a more aggressive "treadmill" of deployments. For users who prioritize long-term stability over rapid feature iteration, the organization will continue to provide Extended Support Releases (ESR), which offer stability for up to a year.

Historically, Thunderbird has operated on a slower development timeline than its browser counterpart, Firefox. By synchronizing these schedules, MZLA Technologies aims to streamline how features and security patches are rolled out across its software suite.
