UiPath has introduced Maestro, a multi-agent orchestration layer designed to synchronize AI agents, RPA robots, humans, and APIs within a single governed workflow. Part of the 2025.10 release, the platform marks a strategic shift for the company, moving from discrete task automation toward comprehensive "business orchestration."

Maestro provides a unified orchestration plane for mixed agent landscapes, allowing enterprises to decompose large, complex RPA workflows into smaller, reusable, and trackable components. To ensure these processes remain scalable and robust, the platform utilizes Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) for process modeling and Decision Model and Notation (DMN) for decision logic. This architecture enables real-time analytics and integrated exception handling across the entire workflow.

The Shift to Business Orchestration

Historically, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) focused on the execution of repetitive, discrete tasks. While effective for efficiency, this approach created a ceiling for enterprises adopting specialized AI agents.
