UPAY Inc. (OTCQB: UPYY) has launched the official website for Petra Software, its wholly owned subsidiary. The move is designed to establish a public presence for the development arm as it seeks to expand its client base beyond the parent company.

The new site, located at www.petra.software, details the subsidiary's software engineering and technology development capabilities. According to UPAY Inc., Petra Software is positioned to act as a primary technology partner for the UPAY group while pursuing a strategy to attract international clients in the United States, South Africa, and other global regions. Jaco Fölscher, CEO of UPAY Inc., stated that the website is a step in executing the company's strategy, providing a platform to engage directly with prospective clients.

Technical Foundation

Petra Software was established to bolster UPAY's internal development capacity in the fields of fintech, compliance, and software platforms. The subsidiary leverages a technical foundation built over more than a decade. Wynand Jordaan, Director of Petra Software and founder of Acheron Systems, noted that the current development team's expertise was cultivated at Acheron Systems over approximately 11 years.

Market Implications

By launching a standalone digital presence, UPAY is signaling an intent to pivot its internal technical resources into a commercialized service offering. This transition allows the company to potentially diversify its revenue streams by selling software engineering services to third parties. However, the venture is currently in a nascent phase. According to company disclosures, Petra Software derives substantially all of its revenue from services provided to members of the UPAY group and has not yet entered into any material contracts with third-party clients.

Future Outlook

Investors and industry observers will likely monitor Petra Software's ability to convert its technical pedigree into external contracts. The primary challenge for the subsidiary will be transitioning from an internal cost center to a competitive market player capable of attracting clients in the highly contested U.S. and South African tech sectors. Whether the 11-year expertise from Acheron Systems translates into market traction remains the key variable for the subsidiary's growth.
