Parks S/A to Invest R$500M in Tier III Data Center in Southern Brazil

Parks S/A announced a R$500 million investment to build a Tier III data center in Cachoeirinha, Rio Grande do Sul, expanding AI and cloud infrastructure in southern Brazil.

The facility will feature two buildings housing eight data halls with a total installed capacity of 5MW, including 3.3MW dedicated to IT load, according to Data Center Dynamics and TeleTime.

AI and Cloud Demand Drives Investment

The project responds to surging demand for digital infrastructure, Parks S/A told Real News. "The exponential growth of Artificial Intelligence, the digitalization of businesses, cloud computing and data sovereignty is generating an unprecedented demand for information storage and processing," the company said.

The Tier III certification ensures high availability for critical workloads, positioning the facility to serve enterprises requiring reliable cloud computing and data services. Parks S/A has operated in Cachoeirinha since 1966, focusing on high-technology electronic solutions over six decades.

Flood Monitoring Partnership

Beyond the data center, Parks S/A signed a cooperation agreement with the Cachoeirinha municipal government to deploy an automated flood monitoring sensor system. The initiative addresses regional vulnerability to flooding while demonstrating the company's commitment to local infrastructure resilience.

Part of Broader Investment Wave

The data center is one component of a R$2.7 billion investment surge in Cachoeirinha. The broader wave includes a R$1 billion chip factory from Tellescom and a R$1 billion logistics park from Guardian Gestora, according to Real News.

TeleTime reported the initial construction phase will create approximately 40 jobs, with the full complex reaching 150 direct and indirect positions upon completion. The project underscores Porto Alegre's metropolitan area as an emerging technology hub, with data sovereignty and AI infrastructure at the center of regional development strategy.
