Ørsted has officially commenced commercial operations of the Old 300 Storage project in Fort Bend County, Texas. The launch marks a significant addition to the region's energy infrastructure, aimed at enhancing the reliability of the state's power grid.
The new facility is a 250 MW / 500 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) that utilizes Tesla Megapack technology. While situated alongside the solar asset, the storage facility operates independently to provide critical stability to the electrical grid. This project represents Ørsted's 12th venture within the state of Texas.
