Huawei Pura X View Debuts with Wide-Screen 'Slab' Form Factor

Huawei has launched the Pura X View in China, introducing a non-foldable smartphone with a wide-screen aspect ratio designed to bridge the gap between traditional slabs and foldables. The device aims to provide enhanced productivity for reading, gaming, and split-screen multitasking without the mechanical complexity of a folding screen.
The Pura X View features a 6.39-inch 120Hz OLED display with a unique 16:9.5 aspect ratio. The screen delivers a resolution of 2,232 x 1,320 and reaches a peak brightness of 6,500 nits. Despite its wide footprint, the device remains slim at 6.68mm and weighs 201g, while housing a 7,000mAh silicon-anode battery. Power management is handled via 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Kirin 9030S processor paired with 12GB of RAM. Storage options range from 256GB to 1TB, and the device runs on HarmonyOS 7. The camera array is led by a 200MP RYYB primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS), supported by a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide/macro lens, and a 50MP front-facing camera.

This launch follows a period of aggressive experimentation from Huawei, which recently released the Mate XT 2 tri-folding phone.
