Playground Games has launched "Drift Attack," a permanent competitive feature in Forza Horizon 6. The mode arrives as part of the British Automotive update, bringing a structured approach to drifting within the game's Japan-based open world.

Located at the Shimanoyama Circuit, Drift Attack allows players to compete for high scores without the interruption of loading screens. According to Playground Games, the experience is designed to be "like Time Attack for drifters," accessible directly from the open world to eliminate friction. To maximize scores, drivers must navigate "Clipping Zones," specific boundaries that provide point boosts when drifts are executed precisely within them.

A Celebration of British Engineering

The feature debuted on September 10 as part of the Series 5 "British Automotive" update. This content drop celebrates British automotive engineering, introducing a "British Automotive Takeover" and several new vehicles to the Horizon roster, including the 2019 Ginetta G40 Junior and the 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed.

Central to the update is the 1990 Jaguar XJ-S. While a stock version of the classic grand tourer is available for purchase via the Autoshow, a specialized Forza Edition is available as a high-tier reward. Players can earn the Forza Edition of the XJ-S by completing the Drift Attack requirements listed in the Collection Journal.
