Unseen Reality’s URXR One Mixed Reality Glasses Raise $500K in 24 Hours

Unseen Reality has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its URXR One mixed reality glasses, securing more than $500,000 in funding within the first 24 hours. The device is positioned as a lightweight alternative to traditional spatial computing headsets, prioritizing all-day wearability and productivity.
The URXR One, which debuted at the Augmented World Expo (AWE) 2026, weighs 93 grams and is constructed with a magnesium-alloy frame. The hardware features dual 1.03-inch Micro-OLED displays providing a resolution of 2448 × 2064 per eye. The system utilizes mini pancake optics to achieve a 90-degree diagonal field of view and offers video see-through latency of under 10 milliseconds. For connectivity, the glasses link to host devices via USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode.
The Shift Toward Spatial Glasses
The launch comes as the extended reality (XR) market pivots away from the heavy form factors seen in devices like the Meta Quest or Apple Vision Pro. The industry is increasingly moving toward "spatial computing glasses" that maintain the utility of a workstation without the physical burden of a headset. Unseen Reality is targeting this transition by focusing on display replacement, allowing users to swap physical monitors for multiple virtual screens or a panoramic digital canvas.

Industry Implications
The rapid funding success of the URXR One suggests a significant consumer appetite for high-end capabilities—specifically 6DoF (six degrees of freedom) room-scale tracking and natural hand-gesture recognition—integrated into a standard eyewear profile. Ming Sun, Director of UX Design at Artop Group, noted that for spatial computing to transition from laboratory settings to everyday life, the hardware must effectively "disappear on the face," framing the challenge as an industrial design priority.
If the URXR One delivers on its technical promises, it could accelerate the shift of XR from a niche gaming tool to a general-purpose computing interface. By removing the friction of bulk and weight, the device attempts to make spatial computing a viable replacement for the traditional laptop or desktop setup.
