XREAL Aura AR Glasses Bring Android XR and Gemini AI to Wearables

XREAL has unveiled the Aura, a next-generation pair of optical see-through augmented reality glasses designed to bring full spatial computing to a wearable form factor. The device integrates Google's Android XR operating system and Gemini AI to provide a sophisticated blend of AI assistance and immersive digital overlays.
The Aura departs from traditional headset designs by pairing a lightweight glasses frame with a dedicated compute puck that handles the heavy processing required for spatial tasks. The hardware features 120Hz Micro-OLED displays and a 70-degree field of view (FOV), providing a wide and fluid visual experience. XREAL has opened reservations for the device, stating that the final retail price for the base model will be capped at no more than $1,500. A commercial launch is planned for Fall 2026.
A Shift in Strategy
This release marks a significant pivot for XREAL, which previously focused on its "Air" series.
