Ainos, Inc. (NASDAQ: AIMD) is expanding the commercial deployment of its second-generation AI Nose platform into semiconductor front-end wafer fabrication. This move signals a transition from research and validation toward scaled commercial adoption across the entire chip-making process.

Following initial deployments in back-end packaging and testing, Ainos is now integrating its technology into the front-end fabrication stage. According to company data, validation activities in front-end wafer fabrication currently involve approximately 200 systems, while a back-end customer is associated with roughly 1,400 systems. The company has already secured a first order of $2.1 million from a semiconductor back-end customer and expects to begin generating revenue from these efforts in the second half of 2026.

The Technology of Scent Digitization

The AI Nose platform utilizes high-precision MEMS sensor arrays combined with a proprietary Smell Language Model (SLM). This system digitizes volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into "Smell ID" data, allowing for scent detection at the parts-per-billion (ppb) level. To power this intelligence, Ainos has built a proprietary real-world chemical dataset that has now surpassed 1 billion records. The company delivers this technology via a "SmellTech-as-a-Service" subscription model, designed for predictive maintenance and anomaly detection in industrial settings.

The semiconductor industry is increasingly adopting AI-driven environmental intelligence to improve real-time monitoring and pollution control. By introducing scent digitization into front-end fabrication—the most sensitive phase of semiconductor production—Ainos aims to establish a new AI perception layer.
