The company has appointed Alpa Sood as the Country Manager for India, based in Bengaluru, to spearhead its regional growth strategy.

The move is specifically designed to support the growth of electronics manufacturing and critical semiconductor processes, including Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) and Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging (ATMP). This expansion arrives as India aggressively pursues a strategic goal to transform into a global semiconductor hub. Central to this ambition is the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), a government-led initiative focused on building domestic capabilities in chip fabrication, packaging, and testing. While India has long been a powerhouse in chip design, the ISM seeks to move the country up the value chain into physical production.

Teradyne's entry into the local market provides the critical automated test equipment (ATE) necessary for scaling these manufacturing efforts.
