SuperAlloy Industrial Co., Ltd. (SAI) is aggressively diversifying into the semiconductor equipment market following a strong second-quarter financial performance. The strategic shift aims to reduce the company's reliance on the cyclical automotive sector by applying high-precision forging to high-tech applications.
For the second quarter of 2026, SAI reported consolidated revenue of NT$1.98 billion, maintaining a gross margin of 24.32%. Operating profit climbed to NT$195 million, representing a 35.95% increase year-over-year and a 19.28% rise compared to the previous quarter. However, net income attributable to the parent company was tempered to NT$71 million, resulting in an EPS of NT$0.33, as the company absorbed NT$80 million in foreign exchange losses.
Strategic Shift to Semiconductors
Historically recognized as a premier manufacturer of forged wheels for luxury brands such as Bentley and Jaguar Land Rover, SAI is now targeting the front-end semiconductor manufacturing equipment market. The company is specifically developing precision-forged chamber components used in etching and deposition systems. This pivot is driven by a broader global restructuring of supply chains and an acceleration of net-zero carbon initiatives within the high-tech industry.
Environmental and Material Efficiency
Central to SAI's value proposition is the integration of its proprietary RESAICAL® 100% recycled low-carbon aluminum. By applying this material to semiconductor applications, SAI intends to help equipment manufacturers lower their Scope 3 carbon emissions.
Beyond the material itself, the company's precision forging process offers significant efficiency gains over industry standards. According to SAI, this technology is expected to reduce raw material consumption by more than 30% when compared to traditional CNC machining derived from rolled aluminum plates.
