Pricing and Positioning
The A2 e-tron starts at €38,200 (approximately $44,000) in Germany, positioning it significantly below the Q4 e-tron, which begins at €47,500. This pricing strategy marks Audi's attempt to capture the entry-level EV market while maintaining its premium brand identity.
"Entry into the Audi world [will be] easier and more relevant than ever," said Gernot Döllner, Audi CEO, in a statement from the company's March 2026 press release.
Range and Performance
Audi claims the A2 e-tron will deliver up to 649 km (403 miles) of WLTP driving range on a single charge, achieved through aerodynamic optimization and efficient powertrain design. The vehicle will be available in four power outputs: 125 kW, 140 kW, 170 kW, and 240 kW, allowing buyers to select performance levels that match their needs and budget.
Multiple outlets report battery pack options of 50 kWh, 58 kWh, and 79 kWh, though Audi has not officially confirmed these capacities as of July 2026.
Design Philosophy
The new A2 e-tron adopts a modern crossover hatchback profile, a departure from the original A2's egg-shaped MPV design. It returns to the predecessor's core philosophy of efficiency and lightweight engineering. The original Audi A2, produced from 2000 to 2005, sold over 175,000 units before production ended due to sales falling short of expectations.
