BYD Denza Z9S Debuts with Record 1,100 km Electric Range

BYD has opened pre-orders in China for the Denza Z9S, a luxury intelligent sedan claiming the longest pure-electric range of any mass-produced EV globally. The vehicle represents a significant leap in battery efficiency and charging speed for the company's premium brand.
The top-tier variant of the Z9S delivers a CLTC range of 1,100 km (683 miles), surpassing the previous record of 1,036 km held by the Denza Z9GT. All models are equipped with a 102.3 kWh BYD Blade Battery 2.0. To complement the range, the sedan features "Flash Charging" technology, which can replenish the battery from 10% to 70% in just five minutes, and from 10% to 97% in nine minutes. For those prioritizing power, the tri-motor Performance version produces 890 kW (approximately 1,200 hp), enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 2.68 seconds.

The Denza Z9S is positioned as a "tech luxury smart sedan," designed to compete directly with high-end Chinese rivals such as the Xiaomi SU7 and Xpeng P7. It integrates BYD's latest proprietary suite, including DiSus-A Intelligent Body Control and God's Eye 5.0 ADAS. On the software front, the Z9S is the first vehicle in the world to support Apple CarPlay's small-window mode. Pricing for the lineup begins at 319,800 yuan for the Premium model, while the high-end Performance variants reach 389,800 yuan.
