DSV, Allogic Deploy 10 Windrose Electric Semis on Texas I-35 Corridor

Logistics giant DSV has partnered with transport operator Allogic and infrastructure provider Greenspace E-Mobility to deploy 10 Windrose electric Class 8 trucks on the I-35 freight corridor, marking the first commercial fleet activation on Greenspace's "Electric Highway" network.

The trucks will operate between Dallas, San Antonio, and Laredo — a critical stretch of North America's highest-volume logistics route. The I-35 corridor through Laredo alone processes more than 20,000 trucks daily, making it a strategic target for decarbonizing cross-border trade between the U.S. and Mexico.

Charging Infrastructure Ready by Q4 2026

Greenspace E-Mobility plans to have four "Green Hub" charging stations operational in Texas by Q4 2026. The hubs will feature 400kW to Megawatt Charging System (MCS) capabilities, paired with on-site solar generation and battery storage to address grid constraints common in remote freight corridors.

The infrastructure model combines high-power charging with renewable energy — an approach designed to prove viability for long-haul electric trucking in high-volume trade zones where grid capacity has traditionally been a bottleneck.

Truck Specifications and Range

The Windrose platform deployed in this initiative offers over 400 miles of real-world range, according to company materials. Windrose uses both "E700" and "R700" naming across different markets for the current generation truck. The company's upcoming Gen 3 E811 platform is expected to exceed 500 miles of range.

Windrose Technology, founded by Wen Han, has positioned itself as a global competitor in the electric Class 8 truck market, challenging established players including Tesla Semi and other emerging manufacturers.

Phase 2 Targets Mexico Expansion

The partnership outlines a Phase 2 expansion targeted for 2027, which would extend infrastructure into Monterrey, Mexico. This phase plans to add six more Green Hubs and deploy 25 additional Windrose trucks, creating what would be the first fully electric cross-border freight corridor in North America.

Order Structure Unclear

While multiple outlets reported on the deployment, Electrek noted that the official press release does not explicitly state whether a firm vehicle order has been placed or if this represents a deployment agreement. The exact ownership structure of the 10 trucks — whether held by DSV, Allogic, Greenspace, or a third party — was not specified in available sources.

A Windrose press release estimated the initial deployment would reduce annual tailpipe CO2 emissions by approximately 1,566 metric tons, though this figure has not been independently verified.
