RayNeo has launched the iO smart glasses, a camera-less wearable designed to act as a productivity tool and cognitive prosthetic. The device integrates ambient AI into the user's sightline, explicitly omitting a camera to avoid the privacy baggage and social backlash typically associated with wearable recording devices.
Weighing between 33 and 34 grams, the iO focuses on information delivery via a near-eye display. The glasses feature Live Captions with real-time translation supporting 40 to 55 languages, a built-in teleprompter, and AI-powered voice memos. Hardware control is handled via a tactile Smart Crown rotary dial, and a hardwired LED status light illuminates whenever the device is recording or translating to alert those nearby.
A Shift Toward Ambient AI
