Sony Semiconductor Solutions and Saudi Aramco have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop AI-powered systems for industrial plant maintenance. The partnership leverages advanced sensing and machine learning to prevent equipment failure before it occurs.
Under the agreement, the two companies will integrate Sony's high-performance image sensors and AI processing chips with Saudi Aramco's industrial data and operational infrastructure. Specifically, the system collects and processes data from image sensors as well as non-optical inputs, including vibration signatures and infrared light.
